The Johnson Greet Christmas Party Guests

This photograph by Joseph J. Scherschel is of the employee Christmas party at the White House in December 1965, during the Lyndon B. Johnson administration. In this photo, First Lady Lady Bird Johnson, in the foreground, greets party guests in the Green Room. Her husband is visible exiting through the doorway. Spread through much of the State Floor of the building, the party featured food, dancing, and live music.
